Your ProfilePro profile is the first thing a business sees before they message you. The good news is that setting it up takes about ten minutes if you know what to expect. Here is the whole flow.
1. Start with your resume
The setup page opens with “Build your professional profile” and a “Start with your CV” step. Upload your resume there. You can change or remove it at any time, so there is no pressure to get it right the first time.
2. Fill in who you are
Next come the basics: your photo, full name, headline, email, and where you are based (city, state and country). Spend your effort on the headline. “Graphic designer” is fine, but “Brand designer for small food businesses” tells a business exactly why to keep reading.
3. Write your About section
Two or three short sentences are enough. Say what you do, who you do it for and what kind of work you want more of. Skip the long life story.
4. Add your skills and experience
Add your skills one at a time with the “Add” button, and only list skills you would be happy to be hired for. Then choose your overall experience level and use “Add Experience” for each role you have held. The Jobs page uses your profile to suggest matches, so accuracy here helps you directly.
5. Share it
Once you save, open My Profile. From there you can:
- Edit profile to change your photo, headline, skills and more
- Copy profile link or Share profile to send it to anyone, even people who are not on ProfilePro yet
- View public profile to see exactly what others see
- Download résumé to get your profile as a PDF
A quick checklist
- A photo where your face is easy to see
- A headline that says what you do and who for
- Skills you can actually back up
- At least one experience entry
- A public profile view that you have checked on your phone
